With the September release of Hesitation Marks and totally revamped and elaborate stage production for their upcoming Tension 2013 tour, Nine Inch Nails have surprised fans with another plot twist. R&B bassist Pino Palladino will be joining NIN on-stage during the tour, in addition to American Idol background singer Sharlotte Gibson, and world-class veteran vocalist Lisa Fischer. Palladino, Gibson, Fischer, as well as Alessandro Cortini, Joshua Eustis, Robin Finck, and Ilan Rubin, will bring a new life and energy to the Nine Inch Nails set-list during the tour, offering fans a whole new show to see.

Pino Palladino is a tell-tale sign to expect surprises during this tour. Palladino played bass on D’Angelo’s Voodoo, but he is likely to wear many instrumental hats, staying true to NIN musicianship. Fans may also recognize veteran vocalist, Lisa Fischer, from one of her performances with the Rolling Stones in the 15-plus years she toured with them. It is very clear that Nine Inch Nails are in an evolutionary process, and the excitement is only building, which in the music world is often difficult to do. Earlier this month fans and critics alike began to witness this with audiophile mastered version of Hesitation Marks and the stream of their EP live via Spotify. NIN isn’t slowing down one bit, and the video below of their new band line-up for their upcoming tour shows that the proof is in the pudding. Watch the Instagram video of the band’s rehearsal for “All Time Low” that Trent tweeted to his fans below.

The Tension 2013 tour starts September 28th in Minnesota, and new surprises will most definitely be brought to the stage. Keep it posted here for the latest in NIN news.
