This Monday, electronic music guru Moby will be delivering an acoustic performance of songs from his upcoming eleventh (!) album Innocents following an interview with California tastemaker DJ Chris Douridas. The event will be streaming live from Sonos Studio in Los Angeles via KCRW’s YouTube channel. Showtime is 8pm PST.
Years back Moby established MobyGratis to license his music for nonprofits, students and independent filmmakers free of charge. A vocal proponent of network neutrality, member of the board of Directors for the Institute for Music and Neurologic Function as well as the nonprofit Amend.org, he’s developed a reputation as a certified sweetheart of the industry.
His solo performance this Monday will be just a taste of an album chock-full of top-notch collaborators. Innocents (out September 30) features The Flaming Lips’ Wayne Coyne as well as Mark Lanegan, Cold Specks, Skylar Grey, and others.
