In a move that is delighting Nirvana fans, in preparation for the 20th anniversary multi-format reissue of In Utero, VH1 has released footage of Nirvana performing “Rape Me” during MTV’s 1993 Live and Loud concert, to be released on DVD September 24.
This video has been released along with a clip of another song, “Scentless Apprentice”, as part of the same concert. The concert aired originally on December 13, 1993 as a special event hosted by MTV at Seattle’s Pier 48. The entire concert is being remastered and released on DVD alongside In Utero.
But VH1 is not the only one paying their homage to the heart of 90’s grunge, Deer Tick recently played a Nirvana cover show under the name Deervana.
