“Gimme,” Beck’s latest standalone single, is now available to stream and to buy in two formats.
The artwork that accompanies the single is by Mamma Andersson. The physical copy is a double 12″ with regular length vocal and instrumental versions on Side A, an extended remix on Side B, and two halves of a 30-minute edit of the track on Sides C and D. It’s available for purchase on Beck’s website, but you can preview it here.
Beck has previously released two other singles this year: “I Won’t Be Long” and “Defriended.” His recent activities don’t stop with studio recordings, though; he performed at Paris’ Days Off Festival in July with simultaneous covers of “Billie Jean” by Michael Jackson and “Bang A Gong (Get It On)” by T. Rex. Just after that, he performed his 2012 songbook Song Reader in London.
Although he’s been busy in 2013, he’s not slowing down any time soon. He’s taking part in the Station to Station Tour by multimedia artist Doug Aitken, appearing with Cat Power in Barstow, California, on September 24. Others involved with the Station to Station Tour include Ariel Pink and Giorgio Moroder.
