London’s post-punk band Savages is relatively new, but with debut album, Silence Yourself , they have made a giant, swelling buzz. In all honesty, if you have not yet heard of them, where have you been? Their name has been everywhere, most recently as the featured opener for Queens of The Stone Age, and the headliners of sold-out club shows across the west coast. Sinister creeping drums, crazy atonal guitar sounds reminiscent of goth rock’s best, and vocalist Jehnny Beth’s amazing voice. Savages is dark, wonderful perfection. They blew us away at SXSW, and it’ll be nice to draw our eyeliner a little heavier and rock out to Savages once again.
