Doomtree front-woman Dessa has released a stylish new video for her song “The Lamb,” and there are hashtags a-plenty. See what’s trending after the break.
#LAAB, the brainchild of Minneapolis filmographer Adam J Dunn, stands for Lights and a Backdrop. Sound simple? It is simple. The sparse setting for Dunn’s series of videos puts the artist center stage – something you’ll appreciate in his newest production, Dessa’s gut-busting rap confessional The Lamb.
The Lamb is smooth, dreamy, and absolutely devastating. It really takes a couple of listens to get what’s going on. Dessa has a gorgeous voice, and the music video seems innocuous, but don’t let those distract you from the lyrics. We’re not spoiling anything – check the song out below.
Known for her entrancing blend of spoken word, rap, and electronica, Dessa was last heard from in late June when she released her third studio album Parts of Speech. Anyone who can score tickets for her ongoing Summer/Fall tour should do so and do so now – Dessa has a well-deserved reputation as an excellent live performer.
