England and New England are together and getting ready to tour. Well, Caspian and 65daysofstatic are, close enough. The two post-rock outfits are kicking off their North American campaign in November, details below.
Post rock is an accurate, but rather broad label. Caspian songs tend to be dense-packed, spacey, and completely epic slow-burn instrumentals. 65daysofstatic has some similarities, but also a capacity for electronic freakouts that should make for an interesting contrast between the two headliners. Caspian’s appearance carries some emotional punch, as the band recovers from the recent death of bassist Chris Friedrich.
65daysofstatic is touring in support of their upcoming album Wild Light, having previously released music video and cover art from the album. The band was recently the victim of a bizarre break-in that resulted in the loss of many of their instruments. See below for tour dates and locations. Up-and-comers The World is a Beautiful Place and I am No Longer Afraid to Die will be supporting at all concerts apart from those in Canada.
