Yet another M.I.A. song is out from the much-anticipated, much-delayed album Matangi. “Come Walk With Me” comes a couple months before the projected release date of the Sri Lankan artist’s fourth studio album.
What can we even say about Matangi at this point? It’s coming, one way or another, even if MIA has to leak it herself. Not that anyone can blame her, seven consecutive delays have way of getting to a lady. But, barring yet more extraordinary circumstances (though M.I.A. can’t seem to avoid them), we have a November release date set.
“Come Walk With Me” brings some bright, droning vocals – and some catchy bubblegum lyrics to an increasingly crowded list of streamed songs. “Only 1 U” and “Unbreak My Mixtape” have both joined the music video for “Bring the Noize” in recent days. Interscope Records had better get its act together – at this rate we’ll get the full album by October.
