Sly Stone, of Sly and The Family Stone, has had a rough time the past few years, but he’s looking to bounce back with new shows and songs from the band’s recent box set.
With a botched show, cocaine charges, and homelessness, Sly Stone has been on a downward spiral since 2010 with a situation that looks dire. However, the legendary musician is not giving up so easily. The band recently released a previously unheard song called “Fame and Fortune,” as well as their career-spanning box set, entitled “Higher,” and have two shows scheduled in October with fellow funk band Rufus in NYC and DC. With Sly’s mix of determination and recent failures, it looks to be a situation where anything could happen. Check out a few songs from the box set, as well as their scheduled shows, below.
