Swedish indie pop duo Icona Pop is set to release their second full-lenth album, “This Is… Icona Pop“. Get ready, fans, they have just released a preview track “My Party” based on Lesley Gore’s 1963 hit song. Favorite lyrics include, “zipper in the back so my crack’s hangin’ out…” Enjoy.
Icona Pop’s second album and debut album via Artist Company TEN/Big Beat/Atlantic, This Is… Icona Pop, is set to release in the U.S. on 9/24, followed by a North American tour. To get fans pumped up for the upcoming record and tour, the duo has revealed a new collaboration entitled “My Party” – featuring one of their favorite New York rapper/performers, Zebra Katz. While the group has postponed their west-coast tour dates, they have already made appearances in Nashville and San Fransisco, and will resume their tour in Salt Lake City.
According to a press release, Icona Pop’s new album will feature well known hits including, “I Love It (featuring Charli XCX)”, their current singles “All Night”, “Girlfriend“, and “We Got The World”, as well as 6 previously unrecorded tracks – which some may have recently heard in Nashville. While their newest track release, “My Party”, will not be on the album, you can listen to the catchy, repetitive new song below. As previously stated, “My Party” clearly borrows from Lesley Gore’s 1963 hit, and includes some of Icona Pop’s own original, visually stimulating lyrics. Have a listen, below.
