Night Beats are technically kinda, sorta a local band, as their roots start in Texas before heading towards the Pacific North West. Maybe that’s why they sound so heavily saturated in familiar Texas Psych leanings. Slinky sounds, lo-fi, and surf. The Night Beats sound like a car-crash on acid, dancing all the while. Like a soundtrack for a Hunter S. Thompson novel, or maybe for a bender in your shag-carpeted van. However you’d like to look at it, Night Beats make some pretty awesome sounds, and for 10 bucks, this show’s a steal.
