The Californian dance-punks declare “Californiyeah” the new single off their recently-released album THR!!!ER, giving it a self-shot video upgrade replete with silk-undie-clad performance footage and glass-elevator awkwardness as viewed through a triple-chk peephole.
Filming for the groovy breakdown took place in the down-time after a show in Tokyo, with their sound-guy taking some lo-def goof off shots. Says frontman Nic Offer, “The song is about being a Californian and loving it, but choosing NYC. But really we spend more time on the road than in NYC, so Tokyo felt like as good a place as any to make the video.”
In addition to the video, “Californiyeah” received some attention from Patrick Ford, who devised an impressive stylized hip-hop remix with Main Attrakionz at the mic. Check it out!
You can catch !!! and their high-energy pop show on tour through the rest of the year. Dates are available through the band’s website.
