The sultry English guitarist and singer Anna Calvi updates “Eliza,” the premiere single off of her upcoming album One Breath, with director Emma Nathan’s soft-focus film filled with eyeliner and suspense.
Calvi’s self-titled debut achieved success on the European charts as well as on the critical front, raking in nominations for the Mercury Prize and the Brit Awards, among others. Calvi notes that “Eliza” is about “seeing a strong and beautiful woman who reminds you of a part of yourself that has got lost somehow, and striving to become that person again.” Nathan’s video is representative of this confrontation, as mysterious circumstances find Calvi chasing a cloaked figure: an apparition of her former self.
You can now preorder One Breath via iTunes to receive an immediate download of the track “Sing To Me.” The full release is October 8.
