California rockers The Entrance Band are on a new label and are set to release a new album. Face the Sun is due out this November, and promises to be an intensely personal collection of music.
Originally the name for founding member Guy Blakeslee’s solo career, The Entrance Band has grown to include drummer Derek James and bassist Paz Lechantin. Some readers may remember Lechantin from her work with supergroups A Perfect Circle and Zwan – spots that saw her rubbing shoulders with the likes of Billy Corgan (Smashing Pumpkins) and Troy Van Leeuwen (Queens of the Stone Age).
All three artists have seen trouble of late, and we may be lucky to be getting Face the Sun at all. A recent press release described the album as emerging “from a long tunnel of addiction, anxiety, sorrow and sadness”. Heavy stuff, to say the least, but the band is confident that any trials and tribulations have served only to render the album a more compelling listen. Those interested won’t have long to wait for more information. Details including album art and tracklisting are soon to come, along with music off the new album.
