Paul Van Dyk has announced his new album, Politics of Dancing 3, which is due out late this fall.
Often stylized PvD, Paul Van Dyk is an icon of electronic music. Carrying on with the final album in his much-praised Politics of Dancing series which began at the beginning of the new millennium, Van Dyk has chosen to work with both established and uprising songwriters, producers, and musicians. He has collaborated with many specially chosen artists which he admires.
His statement is below.
“After almost a decade I’m thrilled to find myself here today, on the threshold of bringing back The Politics of Dancing. Fans have long told me that they felt that POD was unfinished PvD business. Over the last few years I’ve come to share that belief and in 2012 I decided it was time to address this. As a direct result of that I’ve found that ‘Politics 3’ has presented me with a wonderful opportunity. As well as some of my regular studio friends, it’s given me the chance to be able to work with many producers that I’ve long wanted to collaborate with. This has brought about music I’m tremendously excited about. I can’t wait to show you all what ‘The Politics of Dancing’ means eight years after its last release!”
The current single “We Are Tonight,” a collaboration between PvD and singer-songwriter Christian Burns, will be on the album, among many other electronic dance anthems that will quickly become classics.
The highly ambitious PvD also plans to take his music on the road and perform live in the wake of the album’s release, with each show intricately choreographed to explore the literal essence and politics of dance.
