Blag Flag, the (supposedly) more official of the two reunited versions of the iconic SoCal punk band, have released a new single, their third in the last few months.
“Wallow in Despair” was released streaming to the public yesterday, the third in a stream of singles Black Flag has put out since May. The band, reformed by founding member and guitarist Gregg Ginn and 1979/80 vocalist Ron Reyes, is not to be confused with FLAG, the reunion project of original singer Keith Morris and various other band members. Unfortunately for the two bands and fans alike, there has been some legal conflict recently regarding the use of the iconic bar logo, a design created by Ginn’s brother Raymond Pettibon.
The Black Flag boys are gearing up for the release of a new LP later this year. The lead single, “Down in the Dirt,” was the first new material from the band in over twenty years. Shortly after came “The Chase” and now, “Wallow in Despair.” An official release date for the album has yet to be announced.
