Sonic Youth co-founder Lee Ranaldo is releasing an album with his new band, The Dust, via Matador Records in October.
Ranaldo has been busy for the past year or so, despite the indefinite hiatus of his most famous project, noise rock band Sonic Youth. He had released a solo album, Between the Times and the Tides, last year. The first cut, “Off the Wall,” was made available for free download. Last Night on Earth is expected to be darker and more intense record than the previous one. “Lecce, Leaving,” a sample track off of the new album, can currently be found on YouTube.
