The tracklists for metal legend Devin Townsend’s Retinal Circus performance/album have been made available to the public and with over 25 songs spanning all of Townsend’s solo career, prog fans will not be disappointed.
Devin Townsend, previously of extreme metal band Strapping Young Lad, has had quite a successful run since going solo in 2008 with the Devin Townsend Project. In the fall of 2012 he gave his Retinal Circus performance at London’s historic Roundhouse theater. The three plus hours of music from Townsend’s entire solo career and theatrical stage show make up what is now being released as the Retinal Circus Concert on various audio and visual formats.
There will be a CD, DVD and Blu-Ray of the concert, and a handful of options as far as sets and package deals go. The Die-Hard Deluxe Fan Box includes a 40 page book, a polaroid, a letter from Townsend, a postcard, a Devin Townsend mask, a guitar pick, a signed and numbered lithograph and a special 3D cover along with the double DVD, Blu-Ray and double CD. The Limited Edition Box Set contains the DVDs, Blu-Ray and CDs without the extra goodies. The DVD, Blu-Ray and CD are of course available for purchase on their own, but there are package deals for each that include a Retinal Circus t-shirt.
