M83 has just come out with a video for their song “Claudia Lewis,” a track off of the band’s highest-charting album yet, Hurry Up, We’re Dreaming.
The video is one of a few in MTV’s “Supervideos” series, meaning there is a lot of star power behind it. Previously, Drew Barrymore directed a Best Coast music video and Cults made a video starring Emma Roberts and Dave Franco. The “Claudia Lewis” video was directed by Bryce Dallas Howard, Ron Howard’s daughter, and stars Lily Collins of The Blind Side, Israel Broussard of The Bling Ring and Ashley Rickard of the MTV series “Awkward.”
According to Dallas Howard, the video was inspired by the sci-fi movie The Man Who Fell to Earth, which starred David Bowie. There is no doubt that the video accomplishes its goal of a sci-fi infused narrative.
