A new music festival founded by Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zero’s in association if Live Nation has been announced. This new age Los Angeles festival is called Big Top.
Big Top will be held at Los Angeles State Historic Park from October 17th-20th. The festival will feature a circus like approach under a large Big Top tent spanning for four nights and two days. The headlining performer will be none other than the festival curators Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros.
Other activities will be included such as a beer garden, farmers market, late night performances, comedy, acrobats, art and other circus related activities.
Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zero’s Alex Ebert commented on a few of the festival’s happenings.
“These days a band is a fast machine, cramming in dates, cutting fat, making the most money it can. Far gone are the ancient days of the traveling troubadours, lingering in towns, meeting the people, entertaining for days. If you tour, or you have been to a ‘professional’ show, you may have had the sense that something is missing from the experience…And so, here comes the idea of Big Top – a one-off experiment in reaching for a more colorful, soulful, way to tour.”
Tickets for the Big Top music festival will go on sale beginning Friday August 9th at 10am PST.
