An exciting event took place Friday night during the live feed from Lollapalooza. For only the second time ever, Trent Reznor performed “What If We Could?”, a song he wrote with Atticus Rose for the soundtrack of “The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo.”
The only other time this song has been performed live was at a Nine Inch Nails concert at the Ansan Valley Festival in South Korea on July 28th. This fact is remarkable considering the critical acclaim and decent reviews of this song. Reznor collaborated with musician and composer Atticus Ross on the soundtrack for “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo,” and were nominated for and won a Golden Globe for the music. The band has been making headlines all year, from the announcement of their new album, Hesitation Marks, which is being released in September with four different album art covers and featuring the talents of Fleetwood Mac’s Lindsey Buckingham to the announcement of their massive tour currently underway. Fans of the band were also delighted to hear about the joining of former NIИ guitarist, Robin Finck, while saddened to say goodbyes to bassist Eric Avery and guitarist Adrian Belew.
