of Montreal have officially unveiled their Fall 2013 tour dates. This announcement follows hard on the heels of another announcement – that of the Atlanta, GA band’s new album, lousy with sylvianbriar.

Formed in 1996, of Montreal have always been difficult to pin a genre on. The band shifted gears yet again in lousy with sylvianbriar, a home-studio recorded offering inspired by frontman Kevin Barnes’ time spent in San Francisco. In an effort to imitate the recording practices of bands of the 60’s and 70’s, of Montreal aimed for a “high level of spontaneity and immediacy”, one immediately apparent in hard-charging first track “fugitive air”.
of Montreal kick off their fall 2013 tour with a hometown appearance in Atlanta. The month-long series has them playing across the US, working their way down the west coast before returning home for a final performance in November. La Luz will be supporting throughout the tour.
