It’s out, and it is enormous. The Big Day Out festival has revealed an absolutely stacked 2014 lineup. Aussies rejoice, huge names are converging on your continent. Mudhoney, Tame Impala, Mac Miller. I could go on, but we have to get the headliners sometime, right?
We’re a little lost for words. Big Day Out has delivered, bringing top talent from every corner of music on board for the 2014 festival. Seattle superstars Pearl Jam (joined by original grungers Mudhoney, who are fresh off a Space Needle concert) are just the tip of the iceberg. Arcade Fire is in town and on the verge of dropping new album come October. Snoop Do- sorry, Snoop Lion is signed on, riding the recent release of Reincarnated. And Blur, my god, they got Blur. That’s right, Albarn’s back in Oz for the first time in over decade and ready to rock out on a Blur-specific stage.
That’s the headliners. Further down the marquis you’ll find intriguing names like spaz-electronic outfit Major Lazer or local group Tame Impala. Basically if you live in Australia, near Australia, or could find some plausible excuse for going to Australia, go to BDO. Just watch out for the jellyfish.
