GWAR Announces Gigantic Fall Tour in Support of New Album

It’s always hard to tell when GWAR is being serious. That time they played jump-rope with a George Bush imposter’s intestines? Yeah, little tongue-in-cheek. Probably. We think. However, recent announcements seem to be all too real – prepare your orifices, North America, GWAR is touring.

What on earth do we call GWAR. They hail physically from Virginia, and hail conceptually from somewhere well past mars. Carrying shock-metal into the realm of the deliciously insane, GWAR live shows feature faux-sacrifices, elaborate costumes, and incredible quantities of sprayed liquid. In other words, they’re a good time, pick up tickets if they’re coming by your home town and if they aren’t, well, in the immortal words of front-thing Oderus Urungus, “take a [censored] road trip!”

GWAR’s upcoming tour is in support of their new album, Battle Maximus, due out this September. Also right around the corner is the fourth annual GWAR-B-Q, an event that should see both an X-Cops reunion and nausea-inducing levels of stage gore.

Did we mention that they have their own beer?
