The Uncluded—a duo consisting of Aesop Rock and Kimya Dawson—weave a tragic, dark tale in favour of organ donation, depicted in the ironically whimsical stop-motion video for their song “Organs.”
Rapper Aesop Rock and singer-songwriter Kimya Dawson may seem an unlikely duo, but their first album together, Hokey Fright, has been a great success combining both of their unique musical talents. They have been extensively touring to promote it, and are currently on the final leg of the North American tour.
“Organs” is a dark, deceptively childish-sounding song detailing the importance of the very adult topic of organ donation. The video follows this same concept, depicting the lives of anthropomorphic insects—Aesop and Kimya play a grasshopper and a cicada, respectively—who, in the face of tragedy, grief, and loss, also witness love present in the donated organs that help to improve others’ lives.
Early on, The Uncluded released a video about the formation of their seemingly absurd folk rap duo.
One other music video by The Uncluded has been released, which you can watch at that link.

Even if you may be uncomfortable with the subject matter, the video’s juxtaposition of a highly dark, melancholic theme, and a lighthearted stage play depiction of that theme, will likely leave you unsettled and inspired enough to at least reconsider your views on the importance of “giving away your pieces.”
