The Evens’ summer tour dates across the Northeast have been announced.
The duo, which consists of Ian MacKaye and Amy Farina, will set out on tour solely in the Northeastern states, with stops in various small towns and some larger cities.
The band, who are actually a happily married couple with one son born in 2008, formed in 2001 in Washington, D.C., and helped to cultivate what is known as the “D.C.” or “Dischord” sound. They are known for choosing absurdly modest venues, such as community halls in small-town America, to play despite their level of success over the past decade. The Evens are also significant since they are one of MacKaye’s first major musical ventures since Fugazi and Pailhead in the 1980’s.
