Damon Albarn, Flea, Nick Zinner, and More Combine to Form Group Fresh Touch, Announce New Charity Single “Latest Style” Set for July 2013 Release

Fresh Touch, the new supergroup made up of Damon Albarn, Flea, Tony Allen, Nick Zinner, and Alex Kapranos will be releasing a new single on vinyl for charity July 13th. All proceeds will go to the Syrian refugee relief charity, Oxfam’s Syria Crisis Appeal.

In 2011, Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist Flea joined by Damon Albarn of Blur and drummer Tony Allen, first came together to release the album Rocket Juice and the Moon. Now they are teaming with Alex Kapranos of Franz Ferdinand and Nick Zinner (who has been involved in his fair share of charity work as of late) of the Yeah Yeah Yeah’s to form supergroup Fresh Touch. The main cause behind the creation of Fresh Touch is in collaboration with the Syrian refugee charity, Oxfam’s Syria Crisis Appeal. The charity works to provide food, shelter and clean water to all of those affected by the Syrian crisis.

The band has released the single “Latest Style” in honor of the cause. It will be available on one of the 50 limited edition 7″ numbered vinyls. The single can be purchase directly at the east London Independent Label Market at the Old Spitalfields Market on July 13th. Along with Fresh Touch other artist have teamed up to raise funds for the charity relief efforts through an exlcusive single release, such as Beth Orton, Tim Burgess, Django Django and more. Independent Label Market will also be teaming up with Oxfam and eBay to auction off the complete set of all 10 records.
