This Week in Chicago (July 1-7)

Chicago’s festival season gets into full swing this week as the Wavefront Music Festival kicks off Friday on Montrose Beach, featuring a lineup that should satisfy EDM fans. There are also some great local shows this week, including the Big Ship at Subterranean (7/2), the Island of Misfit Toys at Schubas (7/3) and Netherfriends at Cole’s (7/5).  Those looking for some entertainment on the fourth of July should head over to Millenium Park to see ICE and Nosaj Thing at the Pritzker Pavilion. Other notable acts heading through town this week include the Polyphonic Spree (7/1), Deafheaven (7/6) and the Fresh & Onlys (7/6). Read on for all of this week’s recommended shows:
