Jurassic 5 Begin Summer 2013 European Tour Dates

Following a six year hiatus, Jurassic 5 is marching on into the heart of the scheduled dates for their blossoming reunion tour.  The summer leg of their tour kicked off across the pond last Sunday at the Parklife Festival in Manchester.

Arriving in the United Kingdom June, 7, their latest round of rehearsals which began in late May has concluded, allowing the group to get on the move in preparation for their first week of European dates.

However, with only 14 shows currently scheduled the group and management are being selective about when they perform.

“Each of the guys have their own thing going on, whether it be solo performances, DJ sets, music production etc. so in between the J5 dates, they all work on their respective projects,” said Rick Gonzalez, manager for Jurassic 5.

Conflicting schedules and other obligations are not the only reasons behind the select dates and extended breaks between a few of the upcoming shows; the group is more focused on performing well for both old and new fans while having fun themselves.

Which led management along with the group to approach the summer festivals in Europe and other markets with a handful of headlining shows at O2 Academy venues across the United Kingdom.

“We snuck in a few headline shows in the UK,” said Gonzalez.  “They have a pretty rabid following in the UK.”

Though they intend to add more dates to the tour as the year progresses, they don’t plan on doing headline shows this year outside of the UK dates, but will focus on festivals instead, stated Gonzalez.

Despite almost two months passing since their come-back performances at Coachella, the group is still riding a high wave of excitement.

” The Coachella shows were great and everyone was in great spirits.  I expect the same from this upcoming trip,” added Gonzalez.

As for a Fall leg of the tour and extending into next year, the group and management haven’t sat down to talk about what is yet to come for the reunion.

” We are just taking it one day at a time,” said Gonzalez. ” Never say never, but as of right now our focus is just on these live shows and having fun.”
