Headlining this year’s Riot Fest Toronto will be a reunited version of The Replacements, making their way back to the stage for the first time in 22 years.
According to Rolling Stone, The Replacements singer Paul Westerberg and bassist Tommy Stinson will be taking part in the reunion, but original drummer Chris Mars will not. All of this transpired after Westerberg and Stinson got back together in 2012 to raise money for their former guitarist Slim Dunlap, who had suffered a stroke, by helping record the covers EP Songs for Slim.
The punk rock group will be joined at the fest by Iggy and the Stooges, The Weakerthans, Best Coast, Pierce The Veil and many more.
Riot Fest Toronto takes place August 24-25 at Fort York in Toronto, Ontario, and will be followed with Riot Fest installments in Chicago and Denver. Tickets for the Toronto experience can be purchased here, and below is a day-by-day listing of the festival’s lineup.
