Live Nation Charged with 13 Counts of Negligence In 2012 Radiohead Stage Collapse Incident

One year after the stage collapse that killed a Radiohead drum technician, Live Nation is being charged for negligence.

About a year ago a stage collapsed at Radiohead concert in Toronto. The accident was devastating as drum technician Scott Johnson lost his life. Radiohead was forced to reschedule many of the tour dates and upon their return performance of “Treefingers” was dedicated to Johnson. After an investigation, Live Nation, the company who promoted the event, is being charged with negligence. SPIN is reporting Live Nation may face millions of dollars in fines. Ontario’s Ministry of Labour alleges the stage was not ensured safe for workers and employees. Live Nation is disagreeing with the accusations claiming they did everything in their power to make the stage safe. If Live Nation is convicted of all penalties it could face up to $4 million.
