On Saturday, June 8th at Belle Isle, Detroit Michigan, Metallica shocked attendees of the Orion Music + More Festival with a surprise performance. The show schedule included the unknown band “Deehan” for the performance. Metallica frontman, James Hetfield, introduced “Deehan” to the puzzled crowd which quickly followed the arrival of Lars Ulrich, Kirk Hammett and Robert Trujillo on the stage. With the eruption of screams from the audience, the band dives right into all 10 tracks from Metallica’s 1982 album Kill ‘Em All. The band has a history of playing surprise performances, having surprised South By Southwest festival goers in 2009 under the fake-out band name “Volsung.” Videos of the surprise performance show an epic reaction from the crowd and the excitement of the legendary band taking over the stage.
