The long awaited Kathleen Hanna side-project The Julie Ruin are releasing their debut album on September 3rd.
Kathleen Hanna is one of the world’s renown feminist punk icons as she is one of the founders of Riot Grrrl. However, it has been a few years since she released any new music. In fact she hasn’t had any official releases since her band Le Tigre broke up in 2007. Last year it was revealed Hanna is bringing back her solo project The Julie Ruin but with full band backing her. Julie Ruin originally came to being in 1997 but it was completely Hanna’s solo project. Now with a full band, full length album Run Fast will be released on September 3rd.
