In an interview on Fuse’s “Crate Diggers” Hank III reveals life in a family of Country Music legends and the unreleased Hank Williams vinyl record in his personal record collection. The two songs featured on the album, “Mother’s Side By Me” and “Lonely Mound of Clay,” have never been heard before.
In a recent interview on Fuse’s series “Crate Diggers” Hank Williams III talks in-depth about his vinyl collection and unreleased material from his grandfather, Hank Williams. While Hank III is a metal singer, his appreciation for his grandfather’s music isn’t unlike all Country Music fans. He went on to reiterate that Hank Williams’ music allowed him to feel the pain and let go whenever he felt heartache or sadness. Hank knew his grandfather solely through his music, and although they are vastly different in musical style, there is a lot of appreciation for the legacy of his grandfather.
While Hank III has a vinyl collection that is both unique and historical, one of his greatest treasures is the unreleased/unheard vinyl from Hank Williams. The vinyl features two songs, “Mother’s Side By Me” and “Lonely Mound of Clay,” with one song on each side of the album. These songs have never been played and the date is unknown. In delicate condition, Hank III describes the album as one of the coolest things he has from his grandfather. As far as the music on the album, Hank is unsure if it features Hank Williams’ full band or not. There are no further updates as to a release of this material.
