Funk/soul revivalists Sharon Jones & the Dap-Kings have announced a new album out on August 6th. Their first album since 2010 will feature the 11 piece band sporting a new freshness in the performance and songwriting.

Give The People What They Want works well as an album title as well as a creed to live by for this tireless crowd pleasing band. They have been recording and touring almost non-stop for the past decade without a hint that they’ll stop any time soon. After an extensive two year tour to promote their last album in 2010 which included major festivals and television appearances, the band went back into the studio to start tracking what would be their fifth album, Give The People What They Want. The band is set to release the album, which is currently available for pre-order on iTunes and Amazon, on August 6th, 2013 on Daptone Records.
