What was supposed to be George Jones’ final show will now be a star studded tribute concert for the country legend who passed away at the end of April. After leading a successful career as a country musician that spanned almost 60 years, Jones will be honored one last time.
The last stop on what would have been George Jones’ last tour will now be a tribute concert for the late Country Music Hall of Famer. The show, set to be at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena on November 22nd, will feature performances by Garth Brooks, Kid Rock and Charlie Daniels in addition to several other musicians. According to the George Jones Website they are in the process of re-confirming all of the previously engaged artists for this tribute show.
Jones had an extremely successful career, charting more singles than any other musician in the history of popular music, including fourteen number one country hits across four decades. He released his first chart single, “Why Baby Why” in 1955 and was inducted into the country music hall of fame in 1992. He passed away at the age of 81 in April after being hospitalized for a fever and irregular blood pressure.
