As Pitchfork reported earlier today, Sigur Rós has been reported to be writing music (and appearing on) an upcoming episode of “The Simpsons.”
The episode will take place in the band’s native Iceland. No word on what the story line might be though. Sigur Rós will be also be covering the show’s theme song.
Sigur Rós is not the only band to have appeared on “The Simpsons.” The guest list is lengthy but some names include The Smashing Pumpkins, James Taylor, Aerosmith, and the Ramones. And that’s not even including artists who guest starred as non-musical characters.
The episode will air on May 19th, while Sigur Rós’ new album is out in the United States on June 18th.
