Blues-folk singer Trixie Whitley graces the stage with one of the most unforgettable voices many venues have heard in years. Albeit 25, her music career spans most of her life. As daughter of legendary blues singer-songwriter Chris Whitley she was touring the world before she could speak and began performing with theater companies at age 11, also becoming one of Europe’s youngest resident DJ’s at age 14. In 2008 she visited Berklee School of Music to collaborate with producer Daniel Lanois (Brian Eno, U2, Neil Young) and soon, along with drummer Brian Blade (Joni Mitchell, Wayne Shorter) and bassist Daryl Johnson (Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan), became the vocalist of the super group, Black Dub. Her debut album, Fourth Corner, explores a range of human emotion in utter love, total rage, unadulterated happiness, and crippling loneliness. Hear the fire in her voice at the Chapel on June 1st.
