Austra has released their first video from their album Olympia.
The video, directed by That Go, eatures Katie Stelmanis and her band preparing for a show and was filmed as a single take. That Go, made up of Noel Paul and Stefan Moore, has also directed videos for artists like Bat for Lashes and Royksopp. They comment:
The band wanted the video to be intimate and simple, which we thought was perfect for the track. To that end we not only kept the format simple, but we also put the camera behind a 2-way mirror so the band couldn’t see it. Whenever someone is looking at the camera they’re only seeing their own reflection and the environment behind them.”
The track “Home” is the first single off of Olympia, the second album by Austra. The album is scheduled to be released on June 18th via Domino. After their 2010 debut album Feel It Break, Austra toured with the likes of Gossip, the xx, and Grimes. Olympia is a “complex collaborative effort between its six members,” according to a press release. Fans can pre-order Olympia via Domino or Paper Bag (in Canada) now. Austra will embark on an three-month international tour, beginning on June 2nd in Dublin and ending on September 24th in Boston, Massachusetts. Check out the video for “Home” below!
