The annually awesome SXSW once again provided many good things this year, and the fact that The Flaming Lips were amongst all this made it obvious fantastical things would commence. Thankfully, NPR has now provided a full replay of their performance, and it contains the psychedelic band at their finest.
The Flaming Lips chose to re-create their notable album Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots for their festival performance, and it was the first time they’d done so since the album’s inception in 2002. The band is currently touring to support their latest explosive album, The Terror, but this hearkening back to days of old was more than appreciated by those present.
