Bosnian Rainbows have been busy on the road for most of this last year, in prep for their debut release this summer. Shots of their hectic lifestyle thus far hav now been encapsulated into their first video, “Turtle Neck”, and it gives a terrific preview of what’s to be expected with the new band.
Consisting of former Mars Volta players Omar Rodríguez-López and Deantoni Parks, Nicci Kasper and Le Butcherettes vocalist Teri Gender Bender, Bosnian Rainbows have recently been making their mostly experimental rock heard ’round the world, touring Japan, Australia, New Zealand, Europe, Russia and the U.S. With the debut album set for release June 25, the band have now released tracks “Torn Maps” and “Turtle Neck”, and the former has been used for their first video.
In the audaciously artistic spirit and mindset of the band’s members, this is no home video-like showing of life on the road, however. Rather, it’s a quickly-moving look at the many cultures, locales and experiences the band came upon while touring, and it suits the mood of this song just fine.
