Thanks to Metal Blade Records, Amon Amarth will be releasing their latest album titled Deceiver of the Gods this summer, set for sometime in June.
The album is their ninth to hit record stores everywhere, and fans should expect something new as the band has teamed up with British producer Andy Sneap; known for his work with bands like Megadeth and Machine Head.
In the meantime, while the band is still in the midst of cooking up songs geared to blast down the ear canals of death metal fans near and far, they create an even bigger buzz, recently revealing the cover artwork for the album. A cross between the Iliad, and maybe a scene from the World of Warcraft video game series, here’s what the band had to say about the design:
The cover depicts the last battle between the Gods and Loki who arrives at Vigridr field accompanied by the army of the dead during Ragnarok, the end of the world.
One look at the album art and its certain to give you that Greek mythological feel that the band is know for, positive in satisfying all of your Amon Amarth wants and needs.
Fans, stay posted because Amon Amarth is also releasing their title track Deceiver of the Gods, set to stream and hit downloads everywhere starting this weekend. C’est la vie!
