About 300 New Yorkers were lucky enough to see an impromptu performance featuring The Roots’ Questlove and frequent collaborator Rahzel yesterday during the lunch rush.
Held at an empty lot on the corners of Prince and Lafayette, the two rocked the crowd for about 20 minutes in an unrehearsed set that promotes improvisation and collaboration. For the past 15 years the Red Bull Music Academy has supported innovative musicians by providing programs and events that promote their work, and this year is no different as over 30 concerts and workshops have been planned for New York this Spring.
