Kendrick Lamar is still sizzling from the release of his debut album, good kid, m.A.A.d city back in October of 2012, and he hasn’t cooled down a bit. Appearing as hip hop’s hottest mc by far this year, he seems to mesmerize fans in an array of unorthodox, yet intricate lyrics throughout singles like Swimming Pools (Drank), and his features on hits such as ASAP Rocky’s Problem and guest appearance with Emile Sande in Next to Me. So while the momentum is still high, Kendrick has set his eyes on a grandiose tour this spring that will give college students, lucky enough to be enrolled in one of the twenty seven universities where the tour stops, a chance to see his sweltering stage presence live.
Referred to as the Verge Campus Tour 2013, there are about a million reasons that I can give you for why this tour will be one of the hottest to hit the road this spring, but I will keep it to just three. First of all the tour will be launched by the global internet, retail king, Karmaloop.com, who will be powering all the events in the same innovative fashion that made the company the huge success that it is today.
Secondly, Kendrick Lamar will be pairing his talents alongside another prodigy, superstar DJ Steve Aoki, famous for his promotion of such influential artist as Bloc Party and the Gossip.
The tour kicked off on April 4th down in Boca Raton, FL and will eventually end May 4th in Watertown, NY. And if that wasn’t enough, almost all of the tour dates have sold out in advance. A guarantee that a multitude of student court yards, fields, and auditoriums across the east coast will be packed and ready to experience a creative and highly energized show this spring.
So get ready for Kendrick Lamar, Steve Aoki, and Karmaloop.com to come to a university near you. Tour dates are below.
