Although there has been some speculation about the relationship between Goldenvoice and the Coachella Valley, it has just been announced that the two parties have reached an agreement.
This past Wednesday, Indio approved Goldenvoice’s proposal to stage and expand it’s festival offerings. With the new agreement, the Coachella and Stagecoach festivals can stay put – at least until 2030.
This is great news for Coachella fans as it’s been known for a while that the two parties were trying to agree, but the conversations haven’t always been amicable.
The good news just adds further excitement to the festival which will take place next weekend and the weekend after.

Perhaps most importantly, at least from a fan perspective, the proposal lays the groundwork for Goldenvoice to expand from offering three high-capacity events each year to five. Coachella’s dual weekends, followed by the fest’s country music Stagecoach, a post-Coachella fixture in Indio since 2008, will remain, and the promoter will have the freedom to stage two concerts in the fall — one festival with a maximum capacity of 75,000 and the other topping out at a whopping 99,000 attendees. There is no guarantee that Goldenvoice will stage festivals in the fall.
No word yet on what those other two festivals might be but it will be interesting to see what Goldenvoice decides to do.
