The Front Bottoms @ World Cafe Live 7/11

It’s been a treat to see these local-ish (Bergen County, NJ can be considered local right?) come up through the scene in Philadelphia. The duo of Brian Sella and Mathew Uychich mix anthemic punk melodies with stripped down indie rock instrumentation and dance beats. Most songs only feature an acoustic guitar, a keyboard, drums and a bullhorn along with Sella’s lyrics and vocals. Combine it all together and it results in moving, deep songs filled with those parents you and your friends wait for to sing at the top of your lungs.

The Front Bottoms are releasing Talon of the Hawk, their sophomore album and follow up to 2011’s self-titled debut, via Bar/None Records on May 21st. Sella and Uychich will then take their new songs out on the road for a two month helping tour that starts in their homestate of New Jersey and wraps up in Boston. Towards the end of the tour, they stop at World Cafe Live in Philadelphia on July 11th. A Great Big Pile Of Leaves and Weatherbox will be supporting different legs of the tour. Tickets for the Philly show go on sale April 4th.
