Keeping up with their special chocolate brain themed packages, the Flaming Lips frontman Wayne Coyne posted a photo on Instagram of a chocolate brain, and announcing their next special package.
He posted on his Instagram the following message:
“Coming soon !!!! Life size chocolate human brain containing every Flaming Lips recording ever made…”
They previously released for Valentine’s Day a package teaming up with Dallas based chocolatier Dude, Sweet Chocolate making chocolate shaped hearts (the actual human heart shape, not the Valentine’s) with a USB mix of songs dubbed Songs of Love.
The packaging were each signed by Coyne and Steven Drozd, and the chocolates were filled with “72% South Americans dark chocolate studded with hazelnut mini whoppers cone crunch.”
Prior to their chocolate phase, they had issued their record with a psychedelic gummy frog included in the package which could be licked.
Aside from food, they had also encased five physical copies of their 2011 five-hour cover of the Beatles’ ‘Revolution’ in within USB drives placed inside chrome dripped human skulls. Their 2012 Record Store Day release The Flaming Lips and Heady Fwends came with blood from their contributors to the record.
