Bauhaus’ vocalist Peter Murphy did not have a very good weekend: after being arrested for DUI, police found a bag of crystal meth (Methamphetamine) in his car.
As reported by Southern California’s Glendale News Press, Murphy struck a car in the city of Glendale before fleeing to nearby Los Angeles. Fearing that he would cause further harm, eyewitnesses stopped him and called the police. The British goth rocker was clearly disoriented and, although he admitted to being on medication for depression, he denied having consumed any alcohol and blamed the accident on jet lag. He was then arrested and taken in to be processed during which time officers discovered a bag of meth in the back of the patrol car. Murphy claimed the bag was not his but was still charged with a felony hit-and-run, DUI, and drug possession.
The arrest comes shortly after Murphy announced a 49-city US tour and 5-date tour in the UK in which he would perform Bauhaus material this year.
