Since bringing the band out of hiatus in 2010, Jose Gonzalez has kept very busy with Junip. Along with Elias Araya and Tobias Winterkorn the trio has released a full length album and two shorter EPs. The full length album, entitled Fields, marked the group’s return. Back in December of last year, they announced the follow up to Fields. The album would be self-titled and out in April. As time moved closer to the release date, the band shared the first single, “Line of Fire”. Earlier this week came another song from the album, “In Every Direction”, as well as summer tour dates. So far, it appears that the Swedish trio will only be hitting major cities in the United States. The tour begins on May 30th in Los Angeles and wraps up here in Philadelphia on June 16th. Gonzalez and co. will grace the stage at Union Transfer to finish their US trek. Pitchfork is reporting that Brooklyn band Acrylics will be opening most of the shows.
