LL Cool J returned to the stage at the Grammys with new song “Whaddup” which is now available online.
LL Cool J was set to host The 55th Grammy Awards ceremony on Sunday night but he surprised many people when he performed a song of his own. He played new single “Whaddup” with Chuck D, Travis Barker, Tom Morello and DJ Z-Tip who joined him on stage during the song. The song is presumably off his forthcoming LP Authentic but as of now it can be found on iTunes. Authentic is due out on May 7th (via Hip Hop X).
Authentic is LL Cool J’s first LP since 2008’s Exit 15. Over the last few years he has been focusing mostly on acting. His acting career began in 1995 with the sitcom In The House which he stared in. He went on to have prominent roles in movies like Deep Blue Sea, Any Given Sunday, and S.W.A.T. He is now a regular on CSI: Los Angles and he even wrote a song about his character and the show called “NCIS: No Crew Is Superior”. In 2011 he joined mashup producer DJ Z-Trip at SXSW and announced their partnership.
